VOICES OF WOMEN
Inner narratives, embodied perspectives

Voices of Women is a curated virtual exhibition by CaroArtVirtualGallery, focusing on female artistic voices and lived perspectives.

Female artists have always shaped art history — yet their voices have not always been equally visible. With Voices of Women, we create space for contemporary female artists to present work that emerges from personal experience, intuition and embodied knowledge.

This exhibition is not about a single style or medium. It is about presence, resonance and authenticity.

Voices of Women

Voices of Women brings together four distinct artistic practices — Bernadette Sterk, Marjo Korrel, Ank Stegenga and Anna van Dorsten — each working from deeply personal ground, yet connected through a shared commitment to inner experience and embodied perspective.

This exhibition does not attempt to define “the female voice.” Instead, it offers space for multiplicity. Each artist speaks from her own material language, psychological landscape and lived awareness. Together, their works form not a unified statement, but a constellation of perspectives — layered, vulnerable, resilient and resonant.

Bernadette Sterk approaches painting as a process of self-revelation. Her portraits are not likenesses of others, but mirrors of her inner world. Through layered acrylic surfaces and textured gestures, she gives form to emotional exposure and psychological transformation.

Marjo Korrel’s work moves beyond the visible surface into a realm of interconnectedness. Drawing from natural patterns and fractal structures, her paintings evoke the subtle relationship between the microscopic and the cosmic, the personal and the universal. Her work speaks of connection — not as concept, but as lived awareness.

Ank Stegenga brings her own distinct visual language into the exhibition, exploring identity, presence and perception through layered processes and material sensitivity. Her contribution adds another dimension to the dialogue between inner life and outward form.

Anna van Dorsten works with wool and textile, creating soft sculptural forms that embody warmth, shelter and resilience. Her tactile structures suggest beginnings, growth and shared space. In her hands, softness becomes strength, and vulnerability becomes structure.

Across painting and textile, abstract and organic forms, Voices of Women reveals art as a space of becoming. These works do not ask immediate interpretation; they invite you to slow down. They allow meaning to unfold gradually.

Within the immersive virtual environment presented by CaroArtVirtualGallery, this exhibition becomes a shared field of presence — where different voices exist side by side, without hierarchy, yet in quiet dialogue.

Voices of Women is not about speaking louder.
It is about being heard.
